Sheriff's deputies are looking for the owner of a lost cow

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department is looking for the owner of a cow found Monday on Highway 52 in Castalia.

The cow has a mostly white face and is a red heifer that weighs between 750 to 800 pounds.  Sheriff's deputies say the cow appears to have been raised for meat production, not dairy use.

The Sheriff's Department is asking anyone in the Postville/Castalia area that has this type of animal to check to see if one of their animals is missing and, if so, to contact the Sheriff's Department for identification.
