There's been another delay in the deconstruction of the Caretaker's House.
Originally the Oneota Historic Future Alliance had made plans along with Northeast Iowa Community College's Calmar campus to offer a course in Sustainable Deconstruction starting this week. Those enrolling in the class would learn the skills by working to remove the county-owned Caretaker's House at Wellington Place.
But OHFA's Jim Burns says NICC was not able to fill the class. Burns says the school would still like to offer the class at a later date.
In the meantime, Winneshiek County supervisors will be asked to allow the building to stay standing.
