Dates extended for bicycle recycling drive

Due to popular demand, the bicycle recycling promotion held by the Winneshiek County Recycling Department during National Bike to Work Week will continue indefinitely.  Nearly eight tons were collected during the five day period, which far exceeded all expectations.

The unwanted bicycles can be dropped off at the Winneshiek County Recycling Center located at 2510 172nd Avenue during the regular business hours of 6:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tricycles, exercise bikes, elliptical trainers and treadmills are also accepted.
