The Decorah Congregational United Church of Christ, established 1851, has been missing its rose window since April 26th.  On Monday workmen returned and installed the rose window that had been earlier removed for new wood trim.

The present church building, located south of the Court House, was dedicated February 6, 1896.  The rose window dates back to 1896.  Earlier restoration work had been done in 1990.

Within a few days the workmen will return to install protective lexan polycarbonate panels over the rose window.  The lighted rose window has been a landmark for many decades.

The Rev. Matthew Perkins, in his eleventh year, is the minister at the church.
