This year's Spell-a-thon organized by the Decorah PTO raised $27,876.79 towards funding special activities, events and programs in the Decorah School District.

Over 75 percent of the students in grades K-6 participated in the Spellathon.  Leslie Campbell raised the most pledges--$376.25--and was awarded a $100 Savings Bond from Decorah Bank & Trust.

The students of Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Knight and Mrs. Suhr were awarded pizza parties from Pizza Ranch, Happy Joe's and Mabe's Pizza for raising the most funds in each of their schools during the event.

Every child who took the Spellathon test received cheesesticks, which were delivered to the classrooms by Winneshiek County Dairy Princess Megan Lein and Little Miss Squirt Anna Hanson.
