City hires outside consulting firm to help with hiring of new City Manager

Springsted Incorporated, a St. Paul, Minnesota consulting company, has been hired to help the Decorah City Council hire a new City Manager to replace Jerry Freund, who is retiring.

City council members checked the references of three companies and selected Springsted as the best choice.  The company has agreed to charge the city under $20,000 for its work.

Personnel Committee Chair Rachel Vagts said she hopes representatives from the company will meet with her committee soon.  "We're ready to get going," she said.
