NICC President Penny Wills has accepted a new job.

The Yavapai College District Governing Board in Prescott, Arizona, announced Tuesday that they had voted unanimously to select Wills as the school's next president.

Details of the contract are currently being negotiated, but Wills states that she plans to remain at NICC until July to ease the transition.

Wills has served as Northeast Iowa Community College since 2004.  While president she helped win super-majority approval by voters for a $35 million capital bond levy in late 2007.  She also created the college's first advancement office and formed Iowa's first Regional Academy for Math and Science.  NICC was recently selected as one of the top 120 community colleges in the country.

Wills holds a doctorate in higher education from Michigan State University, a Master of Science in counseling from Miami University in Ohio and a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Cincinnati.

The NICC Board of Trustees will meet soon to begin the process of selecting the next president.
