The end of the semester is approaching at Luther college--and that means Luther students are deciding whether to take stuff back home with them, or leave it behind on campus.
The men's basketball team will again be holding its Trash into Treaqsure Sale to find new homes for all the items. They have set a goal of reducing the garbage going to the local landfill by one ton.
Luther Sustainability Director Dan Bellrichard says the community can help by staying out of dumpsters on campus. He says dumpster divers may be injured as well as opening themselves to contamination from the refuse that truly belongs in the dumpsters.
the Trash to Treasure Sale will run from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday, May 19th and 20th and then again on Monday, May 23rd, from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, May 24th, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Any items not sold will be donated to the Depot and local food pantries.
