Norma Wangsness accepts historic preservation award on behalf of Helen Basler

Norma Wangness and Paul Hexom

Decorah Historic Preservation Commission Vice Chair Paul Hexom of awarded the 3rd annual Decorah Historic Preservation Recognition Award to Helen Basler of Decorah on Saturday.

Mrs. Basler was ill and could not attend the meeting, so Norma Wangsness accepted the award on her behalf.  Her historic preservation work in Decorah were detailed by Mr. Hexom in his presentation of the award, and echoed by Mrs. Wangsness and Mayor Don Arendt, who also spoke at the celebration.
