You can get free advice on your yard and garden questions

Dead spots in the lawn, shrubs to prune, insects on garden vegetables, unidentified blooming flowers – these are all things that prompt Iowans to call their local Extension office with their gardening questions.

The Winneshiek County Extension Office in Decorah makes sure those questions get answered by allocating staff time to offer direct assistance for homeowners. 

Also, the horticulturist serving Allamakee, Clayton, Chickasaw, Fayette, Floyd and Winneshiek counties, Bob Hauer, is available by e-mail  to answer questions on a wide variety of issues affecting trees, shrubs, vegetables and lawns. 

Hauer asks that you contact the Winneshiek County Extension Office first, but then e-mail him if your question stumps the local staff.  Send your questions to Hauer at bhauer@iastate.edu.
