Organizers of last weekend's Prescription Drop-Off in Decorah say they were pleased with the participation—and likely will hold another such event.
The event, sponsored by the Northeast Iowa Drug Task Force and Helping Services of Northeast Iowa, collected 100 pounds of out-of-date and unwanted prescriptions. Similar events were held throughout Northeast Iowa, with a total of 677 pounds of prescription medications collected.
Decorah Police Chief Bill Nixon called the event "highly successful" and said organizers are already discussing a follow-up
