Decorah School District officials have gotten a go-ahead from the City of Decorah for the school district's plans to remodel Decorah High School.
Superintendent Mike Haluska presented the plans to the project to the city council on Monday night. City council members voted 7-0 to approve the plans.
There was discussion by city officials about the traffic impacts of the project. Haluska told the council the project will change parking at the school, actually adding a total of 50 parking spaces with two new parking lots. City officials also told Haluska they would want to take a look at the traffic flow on Claiborne Drive, including crosswalks, sidewalks and street layouts.
