Mission Trip to Panama planned by employees at Drs. Meehan & Schwartz Family Eye Care

Posted: Sun, May 1, 2011 8:18 PM

Employees of  Drs. Meehan & Schwartz Family Eye Care will travel to Bocas del Toro, Panama next month to provide vision and medical eye care to the native people of the region.

In partnership with Decorah Lutheran Church, Dr. Schwartz and his staff will trek to remote islands to make available a service that many indigent Panamanian people have never before experienced.  Some will walk over a half-a-day just to receive this basic eye care.

Drs. Meehan & Schwartz Family Eye Care is asking for donations of used frame and lenses and sunglasses to take along on their trip.  The donations would help many of those who otherwise would not have the opportunity to correct their vision needs.

If you would like to donate your used glasses or sunglasses, drop off locations include the offices of Drs. Meehan & Schwartz Family Eye Care at 805 Montgomery Street (near Winneshiek Medical Center) and Decorah Lutheran Church at 309 Winnebago Street in Decorah.
