Oneota Co-op names Pardee as new president

The Oneota Community Co-op Board met Tuesday night in the first session of its new term. The new Board elected Bill Pardee as President, Robert Fitton as Vice President, Lyle Luzum as Secretary, and Steve McCargar as Treasurer. The Board welcomed new members Johnice Cross and Gary Hensley, and thanked departing members Steve Peterson and Joan Leuenberger for their dedication to the success of the co-op.

Robert Fitton will chair the Board Development Committee, which includes Gary Hensley and Jon Jensen. The Board charged the Development Committee to plan development of Board knowledge for future decisions, such as those related to community sustainability in a time of rising food and fuel costs, debt repayment, equity building and others.

Steve McCargar will chair the Member Linkage Committee, which includes Johnice Cross and Bill Pardee. The Board members signed up to represent the Board at two or more events, each, during the coming year.

The Board appointed an ad hoc committee of Steve McCargar (chair) and Lyle Luzum to work with the General Manager and Financial Manager to propose a policy on member requests for repurchase of preferred stock or early loan repayment.
