Klimesh family decides to stop memorial motorcycle ride

The five family members of Christie Klimesh have decided to end the Christie Klimesh Memorial Ride.

For the past nine years the motorcycle ride has been held in memory of Christie Klimesh, who died from cancer ten years ago.  The family has passed along every penny of donated money to the Winneshiek County Hospice Program, paying for all expenses of the ride.

A statement released Tuesday by the family said, "Over the past 9 years, we have grieved with not only those who knew Christie, but hundreds of others mourning the loss of their loved ones as well.  Together, we talked about grief, we celebrated the lives of those passed and we raised money for a program we all cared about."

The statement from Peter, Theresa, Michael, Kate and Benjamin Klimesh stated, "We will deeply miss all the riders we have come to know and love through the ride…We cannot thank you all enough for all that you have given to us, shared with us and experienced with us."
