Present rural garbage collection system seems to be working

Six rural garbage collection sites in Winneshiek County, with five mile radii

Winneshiek County officials say they see no need to make any changes to its system of six rural garbage collection sites.

County IT Manager Jon Lubke on Monday presented supervisors with a map showing that most of the county is within 5 miles of a rural garbage collection site.  There are six sites overall, with five out of the six on county-owned land.  
The sites are always staffed when they are open, with days and times varying according to the site.

Winneshiek County Landfill Manager Dave Hageman, after presenting the map to county supervisors Monday, said simply, "It seems to be working."  County supervisors agreed.
