Ask Mr. Answer Person: Is there a "grace period" for keeping on my studded snow tires?

Meghan e-mails Mr. Answer Person:

"Studded snow tires are permitted Nov 1st-April 1st in the state of Iowa, I certainly wish I still had mine on!  Is there any leniency, for instance, a grace-period for law enforcement issuing a ticket?"

Mr. Answer Person says:
Sorry, Meghan, but Decorah Police Chief Bill Nixon says it's past time to take off those studded snow tires: "Per Iowa Code section 321.442 there is no "grace period" language or provision stated."
