One state first place winner, two runners-up for Decorah FFA Club at State FFA Meet

Decorah FFA Club member Nathan Krull has finished in first place in the state in the area of Agricultural Mechanics at the State FFA Convention.  Fellow Decorah FFAer Danielle Fulsaas was runner-up in Diversified Livestock Placement, while Eric Smorstad was state runner-up in the areas of Grain Production Placement.

It was a good convention for the Decorah FFAers.  The Conduct of Meetings team consisting of Brian O'Regan, Emily Smith, Randi Jo Carolan, Marley Milligan, Cody Carolan, Lukas Phillips and Justin McIntosh was named in the top 5 gold teams in the state.  Andrew Luzum was placed in the top seven gold in Agricultural Sales and Ruth Ann Sutton finished with a silver rating, but in the top ten placing in the area of Creed Speaking.
 
Ten Decorah FFA members received the prestigious Iowa FFA Degree--Dustin Bigler, Shelby Cornelius, Andrew Luzum, Kilah Hemesath, Anthony Henry, Kaitlyn Otteson, Adam Sacquitne, Cody Sacquitne,  Gayge Samuelson, and Jordan Tietz.

Brian Downing, Danielle Fulsaas, and Cody Sacquitne received a silver in the Farm Business Mgt. Contest.  

McKinleigh McCabe participated in the State FFA Chorus while Tyler Lundtvedt, Lukas Phillips and Colin Zidlicky participated in the State FFA Band.  Colin Zidlicky also participated in the Iowa FFA Idol Contest and was honored to sing the National Anthem at the opening session.

Shelby Cornelius and Adam Sacquitne constructed a Chapter Display for the convention.

Shannon Bruening and Marley Milligan participated in the greenhand quiz contest.  

Dustin Smith and Jordan Tietz served on the state courtesy corps.

Dalton Frana made ballot for State FFA Reporter, but was unsuccessful in his bid for the office.

Adam Christopher also participated as a new officer.

In all, 29 members of the Decorah FFA participated in the State FFA Convention in Des Moines.
