Organizers of a 150-kilometer relay race tied to Luther college's 150th anniversary have released more details.
Participants in the relay race will run the approximately 110-mile distance from Halfway Creek to Decorah. On the first day of the race runners will travel approximately 60 miles from Halfway Creek to Rushford, Minnesota, then on the second day will complete the remaining 50 miles to the finish line at Luther College.
Teams can consist of two to 10 runners. The relay is open to Luther alumni, current students, faculty and staff and Decorah area community members. The cost of registration is $60 per team member before April 30th and $80 per team member from May 1st until May 20th. No registrations will be permitted after the May 20th deadline. Included in the cost of registration is a commemorative finisher's medal, race t-shirt, team finishing photo, camping, and showers in Rushford, Minnesota, coupons for discounted massages at race headquarters in Rushford and Decorah, and a meal ticket for a post-race meal provided by Luther Catering.
Top teams will be honored in each of the following categories: co-ed (with a minimum of two runners of each gender), female, male, alumni, and high school. Awards will also be given to top teams in the categories of masters (all team members over the age of 40), Norse (all team members are current Luther students), and ultra (teams consisting of less than five runners).
