The Northeast Iowa Drug Task Force and Helping Services for Northeast Iowa will hold a prescription drug drop-off event Saturday, April 30th, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
There will be several drop-off points for the event, including the Wal-Mart store on Old Stage Road in Decorah, the Calmar Police Station at 101 S Washington Street in Calmar, the Cresco Police Station at 124 S. Park Street in Cresco and the Waukon Fire Station at 11 First Avenue NE in Waukon.
"This event allows Northeast Iowa residents to safely dispose of their unused or expired medications," said Helping service Prevention Specialist Katie Bee.
Two pharmacies in Decorah--Donlon Pharmacy on Water Street and Medicap Pharmacy on Montgomery Street--accept unwanted prescription drugs throughout their store hours, through a program coordinated by a statewide pharmacist organization.
