There has been a slight delay in the deconstruction of the Caretaker's House at Wellington Place.
Originally the Oneota Historic Future Alliance had made plans along with Northeast Iowa Community College's Calmar campus to offer a course in Sustainable Deconstruction starting this week. Those enrolling in the class would learn the skills by working at the Caretaker's House. But OHFA's Kari Burns says there was not enough time between the Winneshiek county Board's final approval of the deconstruction and the scheduled start of the class. Burns says the class will still be offered, but the starting date will be pushed back to the end of May or the first of June. She says county supervisors have agreed to the delay.
