March was warm and wet

Decorah received more than an inch more of rain than average in March.

Decorah weather observer Richard Bernatz says 3.01 inches of precipitation was recorded, including over 1.3 inches on March 20th alone.  Eight of the nine days with precipitation had that precipitation come in the form of rain, not snow--just two inches of snow fell the whole month.

For the last 12 months, precipitation in Decorah has been nearly 10 inches greater than average.

March temperatures averaged 33.3 degrees, which was 0.9 degrees warmer than average.  March 2011 in Decorah did not have a single day in which the temperature dipped below zero.
