Two teams from Northeast Iowa Community College have won first place honors in a national competition, a first for NICC.
17 NICC students attended the National Postsecondary Agriculture Student Conference, with two teams of NICC students taking first place finishes in the competition.
Luke Boyum of Chatfield, Minnesota; Brian Hoffman of Charlotte, Iowa; and Chris Mack of Zumbrota, Minnesota won in the Livestock Beef Specialist Program competition. A second NICC team of Marcus Wenthold of Ossian and Brion Barrett of Shelby, Iowa won in the John Deere - Agricultural Machinery Service Technician Program competition.
