Upper Explorerland Regional Planning Commission (UERPC) has received two community foundation grants to their office.  The Allamakee County Community Foundation has awarded the commission $5,000 to assist the Northeast Iowa Regional Housing Trust Fund (NEIRHTF) for Allamakee County homes.  The NEIRHTF assists individuals, community organizations, non-profit and for-profit developers in rehabilitation, repair, and creation of projects that improve the condition of, or contribute to the development of both rental and owner occupied affordable housing in the four county region, which includes the counties of Allamakee, Clayton, Howard and Winneshiek.

The Winneshiek County Community Foundation awarded UERPC $4,025 to be used as part of a Planning Technology Initiative for Northeast Iowa.  The commission plans to use the monies towards the purchase of various technologies to update our board rooms to become interactive and more receptive to our region's needs.

Upper Explorerland Regional Planning Commission has helped the 52 cities and five Northeast Iowa counties of Allamakee, Clayton, Fayette, Howard and Winneshiek to get over $176 million in federal and state grant funds since 1972.
