Longtime Decorah physician David Maher has resigned from the Decorah Clinic.
Maher had worked at the clinic for 19 years. He had also served as Winneshiek Medical Center's interim Chief Medical Officer for a brief time after CMO David Heine was placed on leave. Maher also served as the doctor for many of the sports programs at Decorah High School.
A statement released by Winneshiek Medical Center on Tuesday thanked Dr. Maher for the dedication and service he has provided over the years.
The statement quoted Winneshiek Medical Center Chief Medical Officer Dr. Susan Halter as saying "Patients will continue to receive the excellent care they have come to expect from Decorah Clinic Physicians—Mayo Health System. We will work to ensure that our patients receive exceptional and uninterrupted care."
