Luther College ballroom dancing club wins prizes in Minnesota

The Luther College Ballroom/Swing Club came home from the North DanceSport Classic in Minneapolis with a lot of medals.  

Luther club members were among the 243 competitors at the event, ranging from college students, high school students and adults from the region. 31 Luther students competed in cha-cha, foxtrot, rumba, swing, tango, waltz and west cost swing.
 
Luther Ballroom/Swing Club members took one-third of all the medals awarded at the competition.

The club also participated in the collegiate team competition and placed fifth out of a total of eight colleges, winning a $200 prize and several individual scholarships.

The club is coached by April Dahl, owner of Dance Center in Rochester.
