Luther student health survey covers "every area of student life"

On Monday, decorahnews.com discussed the results of a survey about the mental health of Luther College students.  But the mental health survey is just one part of an overall survey taken by Luther students about health, wellness and safety.

Luther Health Service Director JoEllen Anderson says the survey covered "every area of student life."  The results are being tabulated now and will be used by Luther officials to guide the programming they create.

Anderson says the overall survey, like the portion about mental health, "backed up what we see (at the Health Service)."  That means that Luther students face the typical issues most college students face—stress, anxiety, even colds and flu.

Now Health Service officials will be creating a series of video clips to be posted on the Luther website, videos that will deal with the issues raised by the survey.

Anderson says, taken as a whole, the survey results showed "why it's important to have (the Health Service)."
