Decorah teachers, school board reach contract agreement

The Decorah Education Association and the Decorah Community School District have reached a tentative agreement on a 2011-2012 contract.

The two sides have tentatively approved a package calling for a 3.25 percent in spending on teacher salaries and benefits next year.  As part of the agreement, the two sides have agreed to a change in the school district-funded health insurance program.

A news release issued by both sides Thursday said they "were pleased with the working environment and the ability to reach an early settlement."
