Decorah PTO is helping to increase the Decorah School District's number of books

The Decorah PTO has made a $10,000 donation to the Decorah Community School District to supplement the library book collections at John Cline and West Side Schools.
The national average ratio of books per child is currently between 20-30. The Decorah School District's libraries average between 12-21 books per child, depending on the school.
In order to get the schools to meet the minimum standard of 20 books per child, it would cost over $150,000.
