A group of Bondurant, Iowa volunteers are organizing a 45 mile bike ride to benefit Chris Norton and another Bondurant resident who suffered severe spine injuries last fall.
Norton was injured during the Luther-Central football game in Carlson Stadium on October 16th, making a tackle during a kickoff return. He was airlifted to Mayo Clinic where he had surgery and continues his physical therapy.
15 days later, Doug Eshelman of Bondurant fell while climbing to his tree stand deer hunting. He was found by his son six hours after the accident. He was airlifted to Methodist Hospital, had surgery and is continuing physical therapy at Craig Hospital in Englewood, Colorado.
This year's bike ride will be held Saturday, June 18th. Breakfast and Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. The ride begins at 9:00 a.m. Registration cost is $20.
