A research project designed to analyze the impact of NCAA Division III athletic programs have on their schools and surrounding communities has chosen Decorah as one of four survey locations.

The study is being conducted by Matthew Katz, Brady Randall, and Dr. Aaron W. Clopton, all from Louisiana State University.  The three are asking for volunteers 18 and older from the Decorah community to take an on-line survey.  The survey is comprised of a set of scales that will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

Katz says the survey is aimed at discovering how local communities relate or do not relate to the colleges and universities within their towns.  The survey is posted at:

The LSU grad students and their professor say all replies will be anonymous, and will remain confidential. There are no known risks involved with this study. Participation is completely voluntary and there will be no penalty or loss of benefits if you choose to not participate in this research study. Completion of the survey indicates your consent for use of the answers you supply.

If you have any questions about the study you may contact Dr. Aaron W. Clopton at (225) 578 0849 or at awc@lsu.edu
