Decorah School Board acts on several bid items

The Decorah School Board has approved an audit bid of $22,810 by Hacker, Nelson & Co. P.C. for the Decorah Schools 2010-11 audit. The bid was comparable to the one for this year.

In other business the board approved a high school auditorium lighting bid by Gopher Stage Lighting of Minneapolis in the amount of $52,682. Officials said that the current lighting, because it is not currently being reproduced, may well be sold to those wanting replacement parts. The board also set April 11 as a public hearing time to review bids on high school asbestos removal. However, it is anticipated that a hearing will not be needed since officials believe the bids will come in around $70,000,well below the $100,000 limit where a public hearing is needed.
