Will Decorah have school beyond Memorial Day?

Superintendent Mike Haluska told the Decorah Community School Board Monday night that the recent snow day had pushed the last day of school to May 31. However, he said he is waiting until the end of March, and if no additional snow days are needed, he will discuss the situation with the Decorah Education Association. That could result in adding an additional school day (such as the Monday after Easter). Also at issue is how to recoup the staff development time that was lost during the last school day cancellation. Stay tuned.
