Vandals have chopped down an oak tree in Phelps Park.
Authorities believe the act was committed between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Sunday. The large tree apparently was cut down with an axe.
The Decorah Parks and Recreation Department says it would cost around $2,000 for a replacement for the tree.
The Decorah Police Department says also taken Sunday night were six bird feeders, some solar lights and reflective cones. Police and the Decorah Parks and Recreation Department are looking for information about the incidents. Anyone who might have information is asked to contact the Decorah Police Department.
