Warmer temperatures and melting snow bring thoughts of motorcycle trips in beautiful northeast Iowa.
Motorcycle Rider Education Courses are being offered by Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) in Calmar beginning in mid-April through early August. While open to students of all ages, the Basic Rider Course fulfills the mandatory requirements of motorcycle driver education for those under the age of 18. Those students under 18 must be at least 15 years old and possess an instruction permit valid for motorcycle or automobile.
Weekend courses are available to anyone wishing to learn or improve proper motorcycle riding skills in a safe, controlled environment. Classroom size is limited to 12 students, with a maximum driving range class size of six, to allow for personal instruction. The course includes 15 total hours of classroom and bike time. Motorcycles and helmets are provided.
