106-year-old Decorah woman dies

106-year-old Charlotte Erickson has died.

She was born September 7th, 1904, in Hesper, the daughter of Hugo and Grace Noecker.  She attended Upper Iowa University, where she received her teaching certificate.  Charlotte taught school at East Side School in Decorah and Burr Oak before marrying Silas Erickson of Burr Oak on October 2nd, 1926.

Her family moved several times, but moved back to Decorah in 1965.

She is survived by five children, 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
