The Winneshiek County Board of Supervisors had just three members present Monday morning, instead of the usual five, so it was a somewhat shorter meeting than usual.
However, the three supervisors did vote unanimously to act on behalf of the the Calmar Township to loan money for the purchase of a new fire truck.
Townships in Iowa are not allowed to borrow money, so the county will borrow the $100,000 needed and the township will sign an agreement to repay the note.
County officials say similar arrangements have been made in the past for Ridgeway, Frankville and the City of Calmar.
