The exhibit "Making a Mark: Jeremiah Johnson and Jon Lobeck will be on display through next Tuesday, March 15th, at The Spectrum Network in Decorah. The exhibit is free and open to the public from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Primarily inspired by nature, Johnson is also influenced by outsider art, graffiti, tattoo design, and the artist Robert Rauschenberg. Johnson creates in media including painting, sculpture, and papier-mâché; and has designed puppets for Edible Alien Theater in Decorah.
Lobeck's work includes a series of portraits in oil paints and intaglio prints. Lobeck recently earned a B.A. in Art from Luther College, where he studied under Richard Merritt and Benjamin Moore.
Luther College professor Kate Martinson curated "Making a Mark," the first in a series of art exhibits to be held this spring at The Spectrum Network, 607 Washington Street, Decorah.
