February was warm and wet in Decorah

Decorah weather observer Richard Bernatz says February in Decorah was warmer and wetter than normal.

Bernatz says temperatures averaged 21.2 degrees, with the highest temperature 53 degrees on February 17th and the coldest temperature 22 degrees below zero on February 10th.  Overall temperatures were 1.3 degrees warmer than average.  February 2011 was the 46th warmest February out of 116 for which records have been kept.

Decorah received 1.33 inches of precipitation in February, with 8 inches of measurable snowfall.  That was good for 30th on the list of 188 Februaries for which records were kept in Decorah
