NICC to offer electrician class

Posted: Tue, Mar 1, 2011 3:50 PM

Northeast Iowa Community College's Calmar campus will be offering a 2011 NEC Code Update class on Wednesday, April 6th, from 3:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. in Room 110 in the Industrial Tech Building.

This class, based on the 2011 calculations, offers professional electricians plenty of information to prepare for the journeyman and master's electrical exam for licensure, and provides licensed electricians with eight hours of continuing education. Students must bring their 2011 NEC Code books to class.

Instructor Jeff Cooper, an NICC graduate, worked his way up from apprentice to journeyman to master electrician before owning his own contracting business. Cooper also receives additional training through the International Association of Electrical Inspectors and Mike Holt Enterprises.

To register and pay online for NEC Exam Prep, or for more information, go to www.nicc.edu/continuinged or call (800)728-2256, extension 399. The fee includes handouts and lunch. Additional information is available by contacting Mary Steen, continuing education program manager, at extension 341 or Jeff Cooper at extension 407.
