The roof has fallen! New Minowa Players is raising money for repairs

The roof at the New Minowa Players Community Theatre's building in Decorah has dropped 18 inches under the weight of four feet of snow. The group's insurance settlement will cover only about half the cost of the repairs.

As a result, the NMP Board of Directors has organized a "Raise the Roof" fund raising campaign to cover the approximately $15,000 shortfall. Area residents are being asked to consider making a donation in any amount and are also invited to "Name a Seat". For a minimum of $110 an engraved brass name plate with the donor's name, person, or business being honored will be placed on one of the theatre's 46 permanent seats.

Those wishing to participate may make a check payable to "New Minowa Players Raise the Roof" and include the exact wording for each name plate being ordered. Maximum number of letters per name plate is 25. The plates will be affixed randomly and the seat you name is not reserved for your use. All contributions may be sent to NMP at PO Box 321, Decorah, 52101.
