Cresco man cited for drunk driving after hitting three parked cars

25-year-old Zach Bethke of Cresco faces charges of second offense drunk driving and failure to maintain control of a vehicle after a traffic accident Wednesday that totaled his car and caused $9,000 in damages to three parked cars.

Police say Bethke lost control of his car on a curve on Pole Line Road. The vehicle traveled 81 feet without braking before striking a parked car owned by Cliff Carey of Decorah, pushing that car into a car owned by Kevin Barth of Decorah and another car owned by Darrell Samuelson of Decorah. All three cars were parked outside the Decorah School District's bus barn.

Police say Bethke left the scene of the accident, but was stopped half a mile west on Pole Line Road.
