Winneshiek County officials have reached a tentative contract agreement with the union representing road workers. The three year agreement would give the union members 1.75 percent pay raises in the first and second years of the contract. Negotiations would be held again for the third year, but only for wages.
Meanwhile, county officials will meet Wednesday with representatives of the jailers union, with the two sides "very close" to an agreement. However, the third county union, which represents Sheriff's Deputies, has decided to take their contract talks to a mediator. That session will be held March 1st.
