The former director of the ELCA World Hunger and Disaster Appeal, Luther alumnus Kathy Sime, is visiting Luther through Wednesday.
Her visit features a lecture for Luther students entitled "Use Your Words: Finding a Voice in a Noisy World."
In addition, Sime will meet with several classes including "Paideia II: Shakespeare and Politics," taught by Luther professor of English Mark Muggli and Luther professor of political science John Moeller; "Writing for Media" taught by Luther professor of English David Faldet; and "Global Citizenship" taught by Luther professor of education Deb Norland.
Sime holds the bachelor's degree magna cum laude in English and French from Luther, and holds the master's degree from DePaul University. She has worked for a variety of businesses and non-profit organizations, including Southern Illinois Regional Social Services, The Alford Group and the ELCA World Hunger and Disaster Appeal.
Sime's visit is sponsored by the Center for Ethics and Public Life and coordinated by the Luther English Department as part of its "Life After Luther" events.
