Luther College graduate Michal Rahfaldt on campus Feb. 13-19

Michal Rahfaldt, a 1997 Luther College graduate, will be on campus Feb. 13- Feb. 19 as part of Luther's sesquicentennial visitor series.

The sesquicentennial visitor series is hosted by the Center for Ethics and Public Life in collaboration with the Sense of Vocation program.

Luther Sesquicentennial Celebration events, activities and projects are based on the theme "Transformed by the Journey," paying tribute to the dynamic transformation of the college over its 150 years and the transformative role the college plays in the lives of the men and women who have come to Luther for their higher education and training.

He will visit a number of classes on Luther campus and interact with students during his stay.

Rahfaldt is the director of the Children's Radio Foundation in Cape Town, South Africa. He has taught at the University of Michigan and the University of Cape Town, along with serving in several capacities with UNICEF in Cape Town and Zambia. He also serves as a board member for Young in Prison in South Africa.

He has received numerous grants and fellowships, and has done extensive project work with UNICEF including organizing a children's climate forum.

Rahfaldt holds the bachelor's degree in music and German from Luther. He holds a master's degree and a doctorate in ethnomusicology from the University of Michigan.
