NICC Calmar has announced it will offer an Artificial Insemination--Bovine class from March 8th, 9th and 10th at The Dairy Center. The three-day, hands-on class provides an intensive learning experience for those who wish to use AI with their own cattle or gain experience to work for others.

The class will run from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. each day. It will be taught by Aaron Stalsberg, the regional sales and service coordinator for Accelerated Genetics, Inc. of Baraboo, Wisconsin. His company has planned activities for student practice prior to visiting the barn.

The A.I. school will cover all aspects of bovine reproduction, including anatomy, hormones and heat detection. The students will have actual insemination practice utilizing cattle from The Dairy Center. Upon successful completion, Accelerated Genetics will present a 16-hour completion certificate.

Registration ($149) is very limited, so call NICC at (800) 728-2256, extension 399, to reserve a place or register online at www.nicc.edu/continuinged. For more information, call NICC continuing education program manager Mary Steen at extension 341.
