Winneshiek County begins negotiations Wednesday with its employee unions

Winneshiek County officials will meet with jailers union officials Thursday to discuss 2011-2012 employee contracts.

At 1:00 p.m. Thursday Teamsters Local Union 238, which represents jailers, will present its initial proposal, followed at 1:30 p.m. by the county's initial proposal.

The negotiation session is open to the public, although later negotiations will take place behind closed doors.
