Decorah HS vocal students do well at the Dorian Vocal Festival

Each year the Luther College Dorian Vocal Festival includes a solo competition to select singers to perform solos at the Dorian Vocal Festival Grand Concert.

350 students entered the competition, including three Decorah High School vocalists.  All three Vikings advanced to the semi-final round.  Allison Fretheim, daughter of Cindy and Chris Fretheim, and Allison Kephart, daughter of Jim and Ann Kephart, were two of the 21 semi-finalists.

The third Decorah HS vocalist, Sarah Hammel, daughter of Richard and Barbara Hammel, was selected for the second year in a row as one of the five outstanding vocalists to perform in the Grand Concert.  Her selection made this the fifth year in a row that a Decorah High School vocalist has been selected as an outstanding vocalist for the Dorian Vocal Festival.
