Iowa DOT grant means Trout Run Trail has now received over $4 million in state grants

Local officials are happy about the news that the Trout Run Trail is getting another $750,000 in state funding.

The awarding of the Iowa DOT grant means the trail has now received over $4 million in state grants.  The project has received funding from Vision Iowa, DOT Enhancement, Iowa Great Places, REAP and State Trails Grants.

All the grant applications submitted by Decorah for the Trout run Trail had to compete with other grant applications submitted by other communities in Iowa.  Decorah's scoring on the grant applications was helped by the fact that the State of Iowa looks at the Trout Run Trail project as having statewide significance.
