Winneshiek County Community Foundation to award over $100,000 in grants in 2011

The Winneshiek County Community Foundation and the Winneshiek County Gaming Revenue Committee have announced they will award over $100,000 in grants in their 2011 grant process.

Grants are made to programs that contribute, in a significant way, to the overall welfare of the people of Winneshiek County. A distributions committee ensures these funds go to support projects related to health, human services, education, the environment, arts and humanities, community development, economic development and other emerging needs.

Eligible grant applicants must be a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization or a governmental body such as a school, city or county or a charitable project with a qualified fiscal sponsor that operates within Winneshiek County.

The grant application deadline is Monday, January 10th.  Funds are expected to be available in March.  Applications are available online at www.winneshiekccf.org.  Please direct any questions to Community Foundation Administrator, Brenda Balk at 563-382-2023.
